Nicole Adorno's Support Page

Welcome to my support page. If you are here you are probably considering supporting me and my missions trip to Nigeria. The purpose of this page is to share with you my heart and my vision, as well as my prayer. I want you to know how your support will be applied to my ministry and how your support will be a ministry in and of itself.

My Heart and My Vision

God has been doing incredible things in my life. He has brought me to a deeper understanding of his love for me. He has placed in my heart desires that I would not have previously had, without this new outpouring of his spirit. Because of this, my main goal and purpose is to further the kingdom of God by taking the gospel to the unreached and therefore radically changing the nations for Christ

This desire for such a high set goal hasn't always been a passion of mine. I have been going to church ever since I can remember. I grew up in a Christian home with Godly parents who have shown me the kind of self-discipline and determination that is currently taking me down this road with much fervor. But, it is now at the age of 18, that God is bringing me to a deeper and much more intimate relationship with him. A relationship that goes beyond the church pews and Sunday morning services. God is drawing me out of the ordinary and into the unknown, literally.

On January 3, 2001, myself and a team of 8 other fellow students will be going to Nigeria for one month. This is a nation that is predominantly Muslim. Although many Christians in Nigeria are being persecuted and often killed, the church is strong. It is because of this that I have such a desire to go to Nigeria and open the eyes of these lost souls. God calls us to go and preach the gospel to all lands. That is why God is slowly taking me out of what I have always known as comfort and into his arms, just a little bit tighter.

Over Forty years ago Lauren Cunningham, the founder of Youth With A Mission, had a vision of a wave of teenagers flooding the unreached nations in order to win souls for Christ. And now, forty years later, that same dream is being birthed in so many young peoples lives today. I believe that God is calling forth this generation to finish what the previous generations began. God is pouring out his spirit into our hearts; we are the ones that are prophesying and seeing visions - like it talks about in Joel 2:28. I believe this generation is going to revolutionize and bring new meaning to the word "missions". Get Ready!

Y.W.A.M

Right now I am involved in a Christian organization called Youth With A Mission (Y.W.A.M.). There are 18 of us at the Minneapolis base and many more throughout the world. Youth With A Mission is an international movement of young Christians working to help make a difference in a hungry world, thirsty for Christ. Founded in 1960 by Lauren Cunningham, it is now one of the largest interdenominational and international Christian ministries, with about 12,000 volunteer staff (and thousands more affiliated workers) based in 750 locations in over 135 countries. This organization is incredible because it gives us, as teens, an opportunity to unite in our desires to be a part of changing people's lives for the better. We, as one body, are responding to the "Great Commission"--Jesus' command to His disciples to go into all the world and tell the Good News.

I believe the gospel of Jesus is not just about words, but also actions. So we share our faith through many different kinds of practical help--from agricultural training to running medical clinics--as well as telling about the Christian beliefs that inspire our actions.

I am currently involved in the Discipleship Training Program (DTS). Every week we have a different speaker, most of whom fly in from other states. These teachers speak about the various aspects of becoming a faithful disciple, such as - building Godly relationships, servant-hood, and confronting the spiritual battles that are very much prevalent in our everyday walks with Christ. The second school is the School of Evangelism (SOE). This school follows the same kind of pattern but, is more intense and speaks on topics that gear you more towards the specific evangelical field you wish to pursue. In every school there is an outreach that you and your team takes part in. We have the option of choosing two different places (although, every school is different), our options where Nigeria or Mexico. God has called me to go to Nigeria.

My Prayer

This new journey that God is taking me on will be challenging as well as exciting. But, I know that I will not be walking down this road alone. I walk side by side with my Creator, as He leads me through this new chapter in my life. My steps are already pre-ordained. I know that all I have to do is walk down the path. I just long for God's heart. I want to dream his dreams and walk in the steps that have already been pre-placed before me.

It has been the hardest thing for me to trust God financially. But, I know that because I am doing His work and following His heart, God will provide for me; just as he provided for the Israelites on their way to the Promised Land. I believe that God is bringing me to a period of testing as well, to see if I will leave all of my financial burdens in his hands. So, I am trusting in my father and know that all things work out for the good of those who trust in him.

I pray the very best for you. I pray that the Lord returns to you 100 fold, the blessing you have given me. I pray blessings for you and your household and that you become prosperous in all that you do.

My Need

This school that I am in is a cost of itself; the trip to Nigeria and also the next school that I may attend are all financial needs of mine. I pray that you seek God to tell you how much to give, whether it be a monthly support, a one-time donation, or just the thought of me in your prayers. It is all greatly appreciated, not only by my family and I, but God as well. Please, prayerfully consider being a part of my support team. I thank you for your prayers and donations. It is because of hearts like yours that we are able to change the nations for Christ; taking back what the devil stole and furthering the kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. God bless you abundantly!
